The Zurich Scottish Country Dancing Club

The Zurich Scottish Country Dancing Club, which is affiliated to the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, was founded in 1963. We meet every Tuesday evening to dance, except in July and August, and the weeks of Christmas and New Year. The teaching rota can be found on the meetings page.

Beginners are more than welcome. All you need is a pair of comfortable, soft-soled shoes and a willingness to join in.

The dance evenings start at 19:15 with a short warm-up, followed by approximately 30 minutes of technique practice. From 19:45 we do dances. New dancers are always welcome, but could you please contact Chris beforehand to let him know that you will be coming. Please also check the meetings page first, to see whether there will be any technique practice on a particular evening.

Every second year or so we organise a weekend course with a Scottish Ball. The last one took place in November 2017 with teacher Linda Henderson and musicians Muriel Johnstone and Ian Robertson. The next one will be in November 2019. Click on the November links on the left to find out more.
